More summertime relaxation means more time to paint watercolors. Earlier in the season we spent a couple of days at the northern tip of Long Beach Island in New Jersey, where the historic lighthouse at Barnegat Bay dominates the skyline. I once climbed all 217 steps to the top, where the view is indeed spectacular. Great effort has been, and is still exerted to keep the sea from claiming this landmark.
Here’s a small watercolor version of the scene. Painting measures 4.5 inches by 8.5 inches. Watercolor wash on illustration board.
