Amelia Earhart may be history’s most famous missing person, but earlier in her life she became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She did it on May 20, 1932, flying a Lockheed Vega 5B. Here’s a slightly romanticized view of her accomplishment. Watercolors on Arches paper.
